President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he would make a long-shot bid to get the Supreme Court to rehear the case in which it ruled against his executive order that sought to sharply restrict birthright citizenship.<\/p>\n

The Supreme Court on June 30 held that babies born in the United States are automatically citizens under the Fourteenth Amendment’s Citizenship Clause.<\/p>\n

The majority ruling rejected Trump’s executive order that sought to undo that benefit for the children of many immigrants.<\/p>\n

In a Truth Social post on Wednesday, Trump claimed, “Signs and Billboards are being put up all over our Southern Border, and Mexico, advertising BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP, with ‘Deliveries starting at $4000.’ “<\/p>\n

“Likewise, similar signs going up all over our Country,” he wrote. Billions of Dollars will be illegally made by this SCAM, with Citizenship going to anyone willing to pay.”<\/p>\n

“AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP IS NOT FOR SALE! In fact, that is a crime, and therefore, the Supreme Court’s ruling is wrong,” Trump said.<\/p>\n

“I will be asking for a Rehearing by the United States Supreme Court, IMMEDIATELY. This miscarriage of justice will destroy America if they don’t change their absolutely insane decision.”<\/p>\n
